This project was very fun to work on and we hope we get to do it again. Because of some financial glitches (not at our end) some of the kits were not completely assembled in time. This means there are a few more kits available in the care of Surrey Girlz. Call to get you or youth you work with one

STAY TOONED FOR PHOTOS!!!!!! (non identifiable)
Its sad to see it end but the kits look really good, we still have a few more items to gather (there was a hold up beyond our control).
We each get a few to hand out on outreach and to our organizations that we access and places where we live. Amanda is going to keep 2 for the funders to see and in case of emergency.
to get your kit call us or email 778-240-1055 info@sepprogram.com
Here is what we decided would go on the tips cards:
1-make sure someone knows your working and when
2-carry a cell phone, even if it has no minutes or doesn't work, the date won't know
3-make a note of the license plate...at least the first 3 digits
4-when you get in the car, keep your hand near the door handle and don't let him lock it
5-determine the amount right away before you leave the are
6-call your friend or spotter and let them know you have been picked up, tell them the plate number. NOTE even if your phone doesn't work or you don't have a spotter pretend you do he won't know any different and it will reduce the likelihood of him thinking he can pull something
7-always be nice to police or they may not be nice to you
8-if anything goes wrong call surrey girlz and report it, they will keep your info private 778-240-1055
9-don't carry a weapon that can be used against you, your hoes (heels) can be a good weapon
10-use the services available even though you may think they are going to judge you...remember you don't have to tell them what your doing, just that you need some support, food or clothing etc.
Be safe!
Amanda is going to put these onto business cards and have them printed for the kits.
Our last meeting is next week and we are going for dinner!!!!!
Today we ate together and had alot of fun just hanging out. We also helped SurreyGirlz get their stuff ready for their move.
We went to pick up the purses but they weren't ready so we settled for black fanny packs (we also thought that way guys could use them too) because they had 50 in stock.
The body Shop in Surrey is going to make us little bags with samples! Also the Surrey Women's Centre donated some protein bars!
We are beginning to work on the address books that Amanda bought and are deciding what to put on our "TIP" cards. (safety info)
Lisa called up the body shop and asked for donations. Amanda is going to go by and visit them and see what they may give us! So excited!!! We also compiled a letter asking for donations

Dear community member
We are writing this letter in the hopes that you can support our project.
SEPP is a community service, which works to eliminate and/or reduce sexual exploitation. SEPP has partnered with the Federation for Youth in Care to create Transitioning Kits for youth in the sex trade.
These kits are meant to introduce the idea of a better life to the youth and we hope they will also include some self-care items to make their day a little better. This is where you come in! We are looking for donations such as gift certificates, bus tickets phone cards etc. to include in the packages.
If you have anything to offer or suggestions for our project please call us at
778-240-1055 or email info@sepprogram.com
Thank you
The SEPP youth
We came up with an idea to make our kits be little black purses so that they would be discrete and usable. We talked about how we always get supplies in cheesy bags and have waaaay too many brochures etc. We are going to get address books and put relevant phone numbers in them and then they can still be used for other numbers the youth acquire and need. Amanda is going to try and locate a supplier for the purses.
Today we begin our project.
5 of us met at
SurreyGirlz We ate lunch and discussed who should be involved, what the kits should contain and how we would get the word out
